Between the River Mouth and Lake Wollumboola
Orient Point occupies the tip of land where the Crookhaven River flows into the sea, joined to Culburra Beach on its eastern side and looking across the water at Greenwell Point. Crookhaven Heads and its lighthouse are a short walk away, and Lake Wollumboola, with its migratory birds, lies to the south. Fishing, boating and an unhurried pace define the place.
The population is mostly retirees and long-term locals, with a growing number of Nowra workers who accept the twenty-minute drive for the sake of living by the water, plus holiday-home owners who appear at Christmas. Many houses were built in the 1970s and 80s and have been updated since; some are still original fishing cottages. Technology needs here lean towards reliability, security and patient explanation rather than the latest gadgets.
Straightforward Tech for Homes on the Point
Most Orient Point households want three things from us: an internet connection that behaves, devices that are safe to use for banking and government services, and a person to call who will not talk down to them. We often find modems that were never configured properly, printers that have fallen off the network, and computers still running versions of Windows that stopped receiving security updates years ago.
The NBN covers Orient Point and Culburra Beach, and mobile coverage is generally fair, though the low-lying streets by the river can be patchy. Salt air is a factor for anything outdoors, and summer storms knock out power often enough that a modem which restarts cleanly on its own is a sensible investment.
Fishing, Accommodation and Home Enterprises by the River
Commerce at Orient Point is small-scale and closely linked to the river. There are fishing charters, boat storage and repairs, holiday accommodation and caravan sites, and residents who run businesses from home, from bookkeeping to craft sales online. The larger shops and services are next door at Culburra Beach, whose retail strip serves both villages.
Owners tell us they are rarely short of customers but often short of time, and technology gets attention only when it fails. We prefer to set things up once so they keep working: bookings and payments that run through one system, records backed up automatically, and a website that presents the business properly to visitors planning a holiday on the Crookhaven.
Getting Out to the Point From Nowra
Orient Point is reached by Culburra Road from the Princes Highway at Nowra, passing through farmland and the turn-off for Lake Wollumboola before arriving at Culburra Beach and continuing through to the river. The trip takes around twenty minutes in normal conditions and longer in holiday periods. Greenwell Point, though visible across the river, is a separate drive back through Nowra and out along the other bank.
We treat Culburra Beach and Orient Point as one visit area, so if you are here we can usually fit you in with other calls on the same day. Remote sessions cover most software, email and account problems first. To see the other villages we look after around the bay and river, visit our Jervis Bay region page.

When a machine starts misbehaving, our technicians work through it methodically, isolate the real cause, and get you back up and running instead of guessing.
A new printer, monitor, webcam or external drive should just work. We install and configure peripherals so they slot neatly into your existing setup.
Cracked, flickering or blacked-out laptop, tablet and monitor screens are usually repairable. We assess and replace them with genuine parts, quickly.

Whether it is a fresh setup, a migration or the classic will-not-send headache, we sort Microsoft 365, Outlook and Google Workspace email for households and teams.
We design, install and extend wired and Wi-Fi networks so homes and offices from Bonython to Chisholm get strong, secure coverage in every room, including tricky NBN connections.

Patient one-on-one or small-group training for people of any age and skill level, pitched to where you are at so the lessons actually stick.
Failed hard drive, dead USB stick or files that have simply vanished? We work to recover what matters most to you, and if there is no data there is no fee.
We set up automatic local, cloud or hybrid backups for homes and businesses, then test the restore so you know your files will actually come back when it counts.
Encryption, sensible access controls and clear policies keep your data out of the wrong hands without getting in the way of your working day.
Moving to a new device? We transfer your data across cleanly, check every file landed safely, and keep downtime to a minimum.
A fresh Windows or macOS install clears out years of clutter and lingering infections. We rebuild, reconfigure and restore your machine so it feels new again.
Something new to install, or old programs to clear out? We handle software installs, removals and licensing so everything works together the way it should.
Brand-new or getting on in years, we tune startup items, storage and settings so your computer runs as fast and smoothly as it can.
From the latest consoles to retro favourites, we set them up, sort parental controls, and get them talking to your home network and TV.
Firewalls, antivirus, patching and sensible configuration keep your systems and networks protected, and we step in quickly if something slips through.

Not sure what to buy? We give honest, vendor-neutral advice on the devices and solutions that genuinely suit how you live and work.
After damage, loss or theft, we prepare clear condition and valuation reports to support your insurance claim.
CCTV, access control, smart locks, intercoms and alarms, installed, serviced and tied neatly into your network and systems.
