Waterfalls, Heath and a Long Way to the Nearest Tower
Tianjara is a remote locality on the high sandstone plateau west of Nowra, best known for Tianjara Falls, where a creek drops off the plateau edge beside the Braidwood Road. The surrounding country is open heath, low woodland and deep gorges, most of it within Morton National Park. It carries the 2622 postcode shared with Braidwood, but it lies inside Shoalhaven City.
Very few people live here, and the population is small enough that most travellers see only the lookout and the road. For those who do hold land or keep a retreat in the area, getting online and staying in contact are the main technology challenges. There is no town, little or no mobile coverage and no fixed-line internet, so every solution starts with the sky above the property.
Making a Plateau Retreat Liveable Online
Properties near Tianjara are usually retreats, small holdings or conservation-minded homes rather than suburban houses. Many run on solar with battery storage. Satellite internet, most often Starlink, is how they reach the world, which means power budgets, cabling and dish placement all need thought.
The plateau is exposed. Wind, fog, heavy rain and occasional frost can be hard on equipment that was never meant to live outdoors, and bushfire risk is ever-present in summer. Reliable emergency communication and backups of personal records are just as important here as streaming or email.
Land Managers, Researchers and Remote Workers
The small amount of commercial activity near Tianjara includes land management, conservation and environmental work, the occasional nature-based tourism venture, and professionals who choose to work remotely for part of the week. Visitors to the lookout and the national park also pass through, but there are no shops or services on the plateau.
For anyone working from here, data safety and communication are the priorities. Devices must be secured in case they are left unattended, files should sync to the cloud whenever a connection is available, and there should be a plan for when the satellite link is interrupted.
The Braidwood Road Through Tianjara
The Braidwood Road climbs from Nowra through Yerriyong and onto the plateau, passing Tianjara Falls before continuing to Sassafras, Nerriga and eventually Braidwood. Side tracks leading to private holdings can be rough, and some may require a four-wheel drive, particularly after rain.
We handle most requests from remote properties through secure remote sessions once a connection is established. When on-site work is needed, such as installing a dish or replacing equipment, we plan the trip in advance, confirm directions and conditions, and coordinate it with other work around Nowra.
Other places we look after in the 2622 postcode include Araluen North 2622, Araluen 2622, Back Creek 2622, Ballalaba 2622 and Bendoura 2622. See every suburb in Shoalhaven, or our IT Support Canberra page for the whole district.

What we do in Tianjara
IT Support Services
Running slow, overheating, fans roaring or refusing to boot at all? We repair laptops and desktops for homes and offices, with most jobs turned around the same day.
When a machine starts misbehaving, our technicians work through it methodically, isolate the real cause, and get you back up and running instead of guessing.
A new printer, monitor, webcam or external drive should just work. We install and configure peripherals so they slot neatly into your existing setup.
Cracked, flickering or blacked-out laptop, tablet and monitor screens are usually repairable. We assess and replace them with genuine parts, quickly.
A quick SSD swap or extra memory can breathe years back into a tired computer. We fit the upgrades that give you the biggest performance gain for the least outlay.
Whether it is a fresh setup, a migration or the classic will-not-send headache, we sort Microsoft 365, Outlook and Google Workspace email for households and teams.
We design, install and extend wired and Wi-Fi networks so homes and offices from Bonython to Chisholm get strong, secure coverage in every room, including tricky NBN connections.
New phone or tablet? We set it up, connect it and carry across your contacts, messages, photos and apps, so you walk away ready to go with nothing left behind.
Patient one-on-one or small-group training for people of any age and skill level, pitched to where you are at so the lessons actually stick.
Failed hard drive, dead USB stick or files that have simply vanished? We work to recover what matters most to you, and if there is no data there is no fee.
We set up automatic local, cloud or hybrid backups for homes and businesses, then test the restore so you know your files will actually come back when it counts.
Encryption, sensible access controls and clear policies keep your data out of the wrong hands without getting in the way of your working day.
Moving to a new device? We transfer your data across cleanly, check every file landed safely, and keep downtime to a minimum.
A fresh Windows or macOS install clears out years of clutter and lingering infections. We rebuild, reconfigure and restore your machine so it feels new again.
Something new to install, or old programs to clear out? We handle software installs, removals and licensing so everything works together the way it should.
Brand-new or getting on in years, we tune startup items, storage and settings so your computer runs as fast and smoothly as it can.
From the latest consoles to retro favourites, we set them up, sort parental controls, and get them talking to your home network and TV.
Firewalls, antivirus, patching and sensible configuration keep your systems and networks protected, and we step in quickly if something slips through.
We set up and troubleshoot AV, projectors, sound and video conferencing for homes, boardrooms and meeting spaces so presentations just work.
Ransomware, spyware, adware or a stubborn virus? Our technicians remove the infection, recover what they can, and harden the machine so it does not happen again.
New printer refusing to cooperate or an old one gone on strike? We get printing, scanning and drivers working across all your devices.
Not sure what to buy? We give honest, vendor-neutral advice on the devices and solutions that genuinely suit how you live and work.
After damage, loss or theft, we prepare clear condition and valuation reports to support your insurance claim.
CCTV, access control, smart locks, intercoms and alarms, installed, serviced and tied neatly into your network and systems.
