Below the Mountain, Above the Village
Upper Kangaroo Valley takes in the rural country at the western, upstream end of the valley, where the Moss Vale Road winds down from the Highlands plateau past Barrengarry and the slopes close in on either side. Cattle paddocks, old dairies and holiday homes share a landscape that looks almost untouched from the lookouts above.
Many properties here are owned by people who split their time between the valley and Sydney or Canberra, while others belong to families who have farmed the area for generations. That mix creates two very different sets of tech needs: dependable systems for daily farm life, and equipment that can be trusted to run unattended for weeks at a time. We look after both, from a phone call and remote session to a planned visit down the mountain.
Holiday Homes That Look After Themselves
A lot of houses in Upper Kangaroo Valley sit empty during the week. Owners want to check cameras, see whether the power is on and know the heating or pumps are behaving, all from a phone in the city. That only works if the internet link is solid and the equipment restarts by itself after a storm.
Permanent residents have different priorities: a family computer that is fast and safe, reliable video calls with relatives, and Wi-Fi that reaches the far end of an old farmhouse. Connections here are commonly fixed wireless, satellite or Starlink, and the steep terrain means one address can differ a lot from the next.
Farm Stays, Cattle and Valley Tourism
Farming remains important in this part of the valley, alongside holiday rentals, farm stays and small operators who benefit from the steady stream of visitors driving between the Highlands and the coast. Owners juggle bookings, cleaning schedules, guest messages and supplier invoices, often from a phone.
A clear separation between guest Wi-Fi and business systems, proper backups of booking and accounting data, and protection against account takeovers are the basics we set up first. From there we can help with a better website, online listings and advertising that brings in off-season guests.
Coming Down Barrengarry Mountain
The usual route in is the Moss Vale Road from the Highlands, descending the mountain toward Barrengarry and the valley floor, with Fitzroy Falls just above at the top of the escarpment. Kangaroo Valley village, with its historic suspension bridge, is further downstream and is where most people head for supplies.
The mountain road is slow and weather can close in, so we plan visits carefully. We try a remote fix first, and when a visit is needed we try to bundle it with other valley jobs, aiming to arrive with everything required to finish in one go. If you are away, we can often arrange access with a neighbour or caretaker.
Other places we look after in the 2577 postcode include Avoca 2577, Barren Grounds 2577, Barrengarry 2577, Beaumont 2577 and Belanglo 2577. See every suburb in Southern-Highlands, or our IT Support Canberra page for the whole district.

What we do in Upper Kangaroo Valley
IT Support Services
Running slow, overheating, fans roaring or refusing to boot at all? We repair laptops and desktops for homes and offices, with most jobs turned around the same day.
When a machine starts misbehaving, our technicians work through it methodically, isolate the real cause, and get you back up and running instead of guessing.
A new printer, monitor, webcam or external drive should just work. We install and configure peripherals so they slot neatly into your existing setup.
Cracked, flickering or blacked-out laptop, tablet and monitor screens are usually repairable. We assess and replace them with genuine parts, quickly.
A quick SSD swap or extra memory can breathe years back into a tired computer. We fit the upgrades that give you the biggest performance gain for the least outlay.
Whether it is a fresh setup, a migration or the classic will-not-send headache, we sort Microsoft 365, Outlook and Google Workspace email for households and teams.
We design, install and extend wired and Wi-Fi networks so homes and offices from Bonython to Chisholm get strong, secure coverage in every room, including tricky NBN connections.
New phone or tablet? We set it up, connect it and carry across your contacts, messages, photos and apps, so you walk away ready to go with nothing left behind.
Patient one-on-one or small-group training for people of any age and skill level, pitched to where you are at so the lessons actually stick.
Failed hard drive, dead USB stick or files that have simply vanished? We work to recover what matters most to you, and if there is no data there is no fee.
We set up automatic local, cloud or hybrid backups for homes and businesses, then test the restore so you know your files will actually come back when it counts.
Encryption, sensible access controls and clear policies keep your data out of the wrong hands without getting in the way of your working day.
Moving to a new device? We transfer your data across cleanly, check every file landed safely, and keep downtime to a minimum.
A fresh Windows or macOS install clears out years of clutter and lingering infections. We rebuild, reconfigure and restore your machine so it feels new again.
Something new to install, or old programs to clear out? We handle software installs, removals and licensing so everything works together the way it should.
Brand-new or getting on in years, we tune startup items, storage and settings so your computer runs as fast and smoothly as it can.
From the latest consoles to retro favourites, we set them up, sort parental controls, and get them talking to your home network and TV.
Firewalls, antivirus, patching and sensible configuration keep your systems and networks protected, and we step in quickly if something slips through.
We set up and troubleshoot AV, projectors, sound and video conferencing for homes, boardrooms and meeting spaces so presentations just work.
Ransomware, spyware, adware or a stubborn virus? Our technicians remove the infection, recover what they can, and harden the machine so it does not happen again.
New printer refusing to cooperate or an old one gone on strike? We get printing, scanning and drivers working across all your devices.
Not sure what to buy? We give honest, vendor-neutral advice on the devices and solutions that genuinely suit how you live and work.
After damage, loss or theft, we prepare clear condition and valuation reports to support your insurance claim.
CCTV, access control, smart locks, intercoms and alarms, installed, serviced and tied neatly into your network and systems.
