Royalla is a rural-residential community just over the NSW border from Canberra’s south, set on rolling grassland beside the Monaro Highway. Homes sit on blocks of a few hectares, many with horses, sheep or alpacas, and the rows of panels at the nearby Royalla solar farm are a familiar sight on the drive in. Old Cooma Road links the area back towards Googong and Queanbeyan.
Most families here commute to Tuggeranong, Woden or the city, and plenty now work from home part of the week.
